Do Opposites Attract? Really?

We've all heard that old saying a million times. There's no better way to evaluate whether opposites attract or not than by using the 4 Core Personality Traits as a measuring tool.

Let me remind you that the 4 Core Personality Traits are deeply, deeply ingrained in all human beings regardless of culture or upbringing. There's no escaping that each and every person - including women of course! - "lives" on a range of each one of the 4 Core Personality Traits. It's extremely, EXTREMELY rare to find someone that sits right in the middle of all of them.

On with our question of the day: Let's use one of the 4 Core Personality Traits called "Focus" to explore this question.

Let's say that you are a specific focus person, and the woman you're sitting across for coffee is a global focus person. You may initially find her ability to grasp the big picture interesting at first, you may find her imaginative ability initially fascinating, you may find her future-oriented dreams and goals admirable at first.

How long is that going to last? After you're having the regular sex you wanted from her, you're eventually going to have to.......... talk to her!

You and she live in completely different internal realities. You as a specific focus guy are going to start to see her as "head in the clouds" and unrealistic. You can try to ignore it - and you will ignore it to continue the great sex you're having - but little by little her constant dreams of the future and inability to see what's right in front of her will start to wear on you.

Plus, what you don't know, is that she's going through the same thing!

She's telling her friends "he's just so plain-vanilla and doesn't 'get' me - he's so nose-to-the-earth he can't see the bigger picture that I see... maybe I should dump him".

Differences like this attract people initially - but to stay together, it's going to be tough going!
